Amxmlc error when trying to compile a pure AS3 app

Hi,
My command on Windows is:
amxmlc testApp.as -debug=true -o testApp.swf

I get the following error:
Loading configuration: D:\Adobe Air\AIR 33\frameworks\air-config.xml
Error: Can not resolve config constant: 'release’
Error: Can not resolve config constant: 'debug’
Error: Can not resolve config constant: 'debug’

The ‘debug’ error occurs twice.

Can someone help me point out where I am going wrong?
Thanks.

Never mind! Found out that a file that an import was causing the problem. Fixed it.

Spent over an hour to figure this out, though.

it happens, my guess is you mixed up conditional compilation stuff
like $ amxmlc ... -define CONFIG::debug false -define CONFIG::release true ...

so in some code

package
{
    public class HelloWorld
    {

        public function sayHello():void
        {
            CONFIG::debug
            {
                trace( "Hello debug" );
            }
            CONFIG::release
            {
                trace( "Hello release" );
            }
        }

    }

}

it is buried in the Using Adobe Flex 4.6 PDF

but still a very useful feature in the tooling
